Two passengers listed as being on the Malaysia Airlines flight which has gone missing were not on board, according to Reuters.

The two men, one from Austria and one from Italy, were confirmed by their countries on Saturday as not being on board and one of the men had their passport stolen recently, Reuters reported.

According to the passenger manifest, which went missing off the Vietnamese coast, 227 passengers, including 12 crew members, were aboard and Christian Kozel, 30, from Austria, and Luigi Maraldi, 37, from Italy were listed as having been checked-in and on board the plane, according to Reuters.

"Our embassy got the information that there was an Austrian on board. That was the passenger list from Malaysia Airlines. Our system came back with a note that this is a stolen passport," according to a foreign ministry spokesman in Vienna, Reuters reported.

Police say they found the man at his home and reported his passport was stolen two years ago while he was travelling in Thailand, the spokesman said, according to Reuters. The foreign ministry in Rome said no Italian was on the plane either, despite the inclusion of Maraldi's name on the list.

The Austrian Foreign Ministry spokesman said: "It's interesting that there were two cases on the same plane but we just know that our Austrian was not on board. Someone used a document to get on the plane. But whoever used that, we have nothing to say about that, we don't know, that would be for the authorities to look into," he said, Reuters reported.

The Boeing 777-200ER vanished about an hour after taking off from Kuala Lumpur as it was headed for Beijing, according to Reuters. There are no reports of bad weather in the flights path and there are no signs of sabotage or reports of a terrorist attack.

Ebony Wilkerson, the pregnant mother who drove her two children into the surf at Daytona Beach, has been charged with three counts of first-degree attempted murder and three counts of child abuse in the incident with a bail set at $1.2 million on Saturday by a Florida judge, according to Reuters.

The incident occurred on Tuesday and tourist's video captured lifeguards and bystanders rushing to help pull the children, ages 3, 9 and 10, out of the van as it was being buffeted by waves in the Atlantic Ocean, Reuters reported.

As beach safety officers rushed toward the vehicle, Wilkerson got out of the van and then tried to block the officers from getting to the children, witnesses reported, according to Reuters.

Witnesses recorded the moment the pregnant mother, who said she had spoken to demons before the incident, drove the minivan carrying her three young children into the wave, Reuters reported.

Investigators said the children had managed to lower the windows and were screaming for help while the mother drove deeper into the water, according to Reuters.

The oldest child could be seen trying to wrest control of the steering wheel from her mother, investigators said, Reuters reported.

Wilkerson's sister tried twice to get mental health treatment for Wilkerson the day before she drove the van into the water, the affidavit said, according to Reuters.

Before Tuesday's incident on the beach, Daytona Beach Police had been called to evaluate Wilkerson by her sister, but police determined she did not qualify for involuntary mental health confinement, according to the affidavit, Reuters reported.

The arrest affidavit said Wilkerson travelled to Florida from South Carolina during the weekend to escape an abusive marriage, according to Reuters. On Saturday afternoon, Wilkerson had not posted bail and remained in jail.

Bobby Jindal

Preparing ground for his potential presidential run in 2016, Indian-American Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal has slammed Barack Obama as the worst president in history and took a dig at his inability to stop Russia from invading Ukraine, Press Trust of India reported.

"To President Carter, I want to issue a sincere apology. It is no longer fair to say he was the worst president of this great country in my lifetime. President Obama has proven me wrong," 42-year-old Jindal told a conservative political action committee yesterday.

At a time when Russia has taken military action in Ukraine, Jindal criticized Obama on his foreign policy front in his address.

"I spent a lot of 2012 going around the country saying that President Obama was the most liberal and most incompetent president in my lifetime, ever since Jimmy Carter," the Republican leader said.

"Now, having witnessed the events abroad these last several days, as we see the president of Russia invade a neighboring country while our president wants to downsize our military, while our president brags about the increased spending on food stamps. Seeing a president that doesn't understand that a strong America leads to a peaceful, more stable world, seeing a president who doesn't understand that a weak America leads to instability, seeing a president who doesn't seem to understand that our allies and our enemies alike need and want a strong America," said Jindal, who is widely being seen as a potential Republican presidential candidate.

In his speech marked with applause and laughter, Jindal also criticized the economic and domestic policies of Obama, PTI reported.

"This President talks about class warfare and dividing an ever-shrinking economic pie. That's not the American dream I learned about from my parents," he said.

"The American dream I learned about was a country where the circumstances of your birth don't determine your outcomes as an adult, an America where we can do better than our parents, an America where every child is told, you, too, could be the first in our family to go to school," Jindal added.

"You could be the first in our family to become a doctor, a lawyer or an engineer or start your own businesses," he said.

"This President graduated from some of the best schools in the country. If I were him and if he would like some free advice, I'd consider suing Harvard Law School to get his money back because I'm not sure what he learned in three years," Jindal said amidst cheers and applause.

"This administration has assaulted our religious liberties. It has assaulted the American Dream. It's trying to redefine the American Dream so that success is defined by government assistance. That's not the American Dream; that's an American nightmare."

Malaysia Airlines Plane Missing

The search continues for a 227-passenger Malaysia Airlines flight that went missing Saturday morning. Reports say the plane is presumed to have crashed, according to Reuters.

The Boeing 777-200 took off from Kuala Lumpur and was to land in Beijing. But the plane "lost contact" with Subang Air Traffic Control about two hours into its flight at 2:40 a.m., according to Fox News.

Several countries, including the Philippines, China and the U.S., deployed planes and ships to search for the plane where it vanished halfway between south Vietnam and Malaysia. A force of 15 airplanes, six navy ships and three coast guard vessels have been sent by Malaysia, Reuters reported.

"The search and rescue operations will continue as long as necessary," Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak told Reuters.

So far the only signs of the plane are two large oil slicks that were spotted by Vietnamese air forces Saturday near where the plane vanished, Fox News reported.

The oil slicks, nearly nine miles long, have not been confirmed as coming from the missing Boeing.

But the types of oil slicks are consistent with what would happen if the two fuel tanks of a jetliner crashed, Fox News reported.

Though no signs of a plane wreckage have been found, a senior naval official told Vietnam's state media that the plane had crashed near Vietnam, according to Reuters.

That claim was later denied by Malaysia's transport minister.

"We are looking for accurate information from the Malaysian military," Transport Minister Hishamuddin Hussein told Reuters. "They are waiting for information from the Vietnamese side."

The missing plane, with a crew of 12, gave no indication it was in distress. The disappearance is hauntingly similar to when an Air France flight went missing in 2009, according to Reuters. It was found crashed two days later in the South Atlantic. A total of 228 people lost their lives.

Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan

Claiming that they have been abused by his political enemies, Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey could ban Facebook and YouTube after local elections on March 30, Reuters reported.

Erdogan is locked in a power struggle with U.S.-based Turkish Muslim cleric Fethullah Gulen, a former ally who he said is behind a stream of "fabricated" audio recordings posted on the Internet purportedly revealing graft in his inner circle.

"We are determined on this subject. We will not leave this nation at the mercy of YouTube and Facebook," Erdogan said in an interview late on Thursday with the Turkish broadcaster ATV. "We will take the necessary steps in the strongest way."

According to Reuters, asked if the possible barring of these sites was included in planned measures, he said, "Included."

His government, which has presided over more than a decade of strong economic growth and rising living standards in NATO member Turkey, is trying to be wrecked and discredited by the release of his purported conversations, Erdogan said.

Denying that he is using a network of protégés to try to influence politics in Turkey, Gulen rejected all allegations and denied any involvement in the recordings.

Five more recordings have appeared on YouTube this week, part of what Erdogan sees as a campaign to sully his ruling centre-right AK Party before the March 30 municipal elections and a presidential poll due later this year, Reuters reported.

In the latest recording, released on YouTube late on Thursday, Erdogan is purportedly heard suggesting the proprietor of Milliyet newspaper sack two journalists responsible for a front page story about Kurdish peace talk efforts.

Gulen's Hizmet's movement could have a criminal investigation launched against him, Erdogan signaled.

Asked on Thursday night whether Turkey could seek an Interpol red notice for the extradition of Gulen from the United States, Erdogan said, "why not?"

A drone over Southern California caught a pod of stampeding dolphins on camera.

"When I saw it, I was moved to tears," Captain David Anderson of Captain Dave's Dolphin & Whale Watching Safari told 11Alive.

A boater tipped off Captain Dave after spotting the pod of dolphins, by the time he reached the area the area they were already in a stampede.

"It's mysterious behavior. Scientists don't know exactly what causes dolphin stampedes. I've seen them where they start slow and build up speed, and where they start suddenly with a burst of activity," Capt. Dave told 11Alive. "They could be afraid of something or they may be heading towards food."

Since there is no predator visible in the video some have speculated that Capt. Dave himself caused the dolphins to flee.

"People have so many concerns about privacy, and that's understandable," Capt. Dave said. "But if they outlaw drones, they have to realize they'll be outlawing this window into the lives of these beautiful animals."

This is the first drone video the captain has shared with the public. Capt. Dave believes the video would not have been possible to capture in a time before drones were available to the general public.

"It would have cost between $10,000 and $20,000," he said. "This is smaller and more simple to fly."

About 1,000 dolphins and whales are killed every day in fishing nets and other man-made devices, according to the World Wildlife Fund. Capt. Dave said many people have reached out to him who are touched by the video and are inspired to help save the aquatic creatures.

"I wanted people to be moved to tears and care about these animals without me saying a single word."

The video is over five minutes long and follows the pod as they stampede through the water.

A Malaysia Airlines flight carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew lost contact with air traffic controllers early on Saturday en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, the airline said in a statement, according to CNN.

"Malaysia Airlines is currently working with the authorities who have activated their search-and-rescue teams to locate the aircraft," it said, CNN reported.

Flight MH 370, operating a Boeing B777-200 aircraft departed Kuala Lumpur at 12.21 a.m. and had been expected to land in the Chinese capital at 6.30 a.m. the same day, according to CNN.

The airline said the flight had lost contact with Malaysian air traffic controllers at 2.40 a.m., just over two hours into the flight, CNN reported.

China's CCTV said 160 Chinese nationals were onboard the flight, according to microblogging website Weibo, according to CNN.

Chinese state TV also reported there had not been any reports received yet about any aircraft crashed in Chinese waters, CNN reported.

State news agency Xinhua reported radar contact with the flight was lost while it was in Vietnamese airspace, according to CNN.

If the plane is found to have crashed, the loss would mark the second fatal accident involving a Boeing 777 in less than a year, after an unblemished safety record since the jet entered service in 1995, CNN reported.

Last summer, an Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 crash landed in San Francisco, killing three passengers, according to CNN. Boeing said it was aware of reports that the Malaysia Airlines plane was missing and was monitoring the situation but had no further comment.
